1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, use the App, or contact us for support.

This may include:

• Email address and username
• Learning progress and performance data
• Device information and usage analytics
• Events about how you use the App (such as app launches, screen views, and progress through account registration), together with an anonymous per-device identifier or your account user ID
• Information collected through cookies and similar technologies when you visit the Website (such as pages viewed, referring pages, browser and device type, and IP address)
• Communications you send to us
• Advertising-related information, including your device's advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID), IP address, and general location data, collected through Google AdMob when ads are displayed in the App
• Device token (Expo Push Token) used to send push notifications
• Purchase history (the products you purchased and their purchase status) when you use in-app purchases. Payment information such as credit card numbers is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and we never collect or have access to it

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Personalize your learning experience
• Track your progress and provide analytics
• Analyze how the App and the Website are used, and improve them based on that analysis
• Send you important updates and notifications
• Respond to your questions and provide customer support
• Ensure the security and integrity of our services
• Display advertisements within the App through Google AdMob
• Display advertisements on the Website through Google AdSense
• Verify your purchase status, provide paid features (ad removal), and respond to inquiries about purchases and restores

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With your explicit consent
• To comply with legal obligations
• To protect our rights, property, or safety
• With service providers who assist in operating the App
• With Google LLC, through Google AdMob, for the purpose of displaying advertisements in the App. Google may use this information in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.
• With Expo (Expo Inc.), Apple (APNs), and Google (FCM) for the purpose of delivering push notifications to your device
• With RevenueCat, Inc. for the purpose of managing in-app purchases. We may send purchase history, an account identifier, and your email address to RevenueCat. If you have not registered an account, we send only an anonymous identifier. RevenueCat handles this information in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.
• With Amazon Web Services (AWS), which we use to manage accounts and store learning data. This data is stored on servers in Japan (Tokyo region).
• With PostHog, Inc. for the purpose of analyzing how the App is used. We send usage events and identifiers to PostHog, which handles this information in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.
• With Google LLC, through Google Analytics and Google AdSense, for the purpose of analyzing Website traffic and displaying advertisements on the Website. Our contact form uses Google Forms, so the information you enter is managed on Google's services.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

You have the right to:

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information promptly.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. For example, services such as PostHog, RevenueCat, Expo, and Google process information on servers in the United States. We ensure that such transfers are conducted in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

9. Analytics and Tracking

App usage analytics (PostHog): To improve the App, we use PostHog to collect events such as app launches, screen views, and progress through account registration. Before you register, we use an anonymous per-device identifier; after you log in, we use your account user ID, which lets us link your activity before and after registration. We do not send your email address, password, or verification codes. We do not record your screen (session replay) or automatically capture your taps.

In-app advertising (Google AdMob): Google AdMob is used to display advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect and use data such as your device advertising identifier, IP address, and general location to serve and measure ads. Website analytics and advertising (Google Analytics / Google AdSense): The Website uses Google Analytics to understand traffic and Google AdSense to display advertisements. These services use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to the Website and other websites, and Google and its partners may serve ads based on that information. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ad Settings, and opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also disable cookies in your browser settings.

10. Notifications

The App may send you the following types of notifications:

• Wordbook Reminders (Local Notifications): Generated locally on your device at a time you set. No data is sent to external servers for this type of notification.
• Announcements (Push Notifications): Sent from our servers to deliver important updates. Your device token is stored on our servers to enable delivery.

You can disable notifications at any time from the in-app settings or your device's system settings.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
