Home Screen Features

The home screen is the first thing you see when opening Pinya. It's packed with useful features for your daily learning.

Word of the Day

A new Tagalog word is featured every day. The same word is shown to all users, so you can discuss it with friends who are also learning.

Tap it to open the dictionary detail page where you can hear the pronunciation, read examples, and save it to your wordbook.

Trivia

Fun facts about Tagalog language and Filipino culture appear here. Learning about the culture behind the language makes studying more enjoyable and meaningful.

Announcements

Stay updated on app updates and new features.

Streak (Consecutive Learning Days)

The streak tracks how many days in a row you've used the app.

How It Works

The flame icon on the home screen shows your current streak. You can also see your activity for the past 7 days at a glance.

How to Keep Your Streak Going

  • Open the app once every day
  • Even just taking a quiz counts
  • Checking the Word of the Day counts too
  • Set up notifications so you don't forget

If your streak breaks, just start again. What matters is long-term consistency, not a perfect record.

Notification Settings

In the Settings tab, you can customize your reminder time. Set it for when you're most likely to study — before your commute, during lunch, or before bed.
