How to Ride a Jeepney

  1. Check the destination (written on the vehicle)
  2. Wave your hand to stop it
  3. Get in and find a seat
  4. Say "Bayad po" and pass your fare
  5. Say "Para po" when you want to get off

Example Conversation

In a taxi:

A: Saan po kayo pupunta? (Where are you going?)

B: Sa SM Mall po. (To SM Mall, please.)

A: Okay po. Mga 20 minutos. (Okay. About 20 minutes.)

In a jeepney:

Passenger: Bayad po. (I'm paying.)

Driver: Saan? (Where to?)
